This is a very brief, no-frills account of the Christian Gospel:
God created men and women for a relationship with him.
[John 17: 3] Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
God gave us free will. We all choose to rebel against God (Sin = rebellion against God. Putting ourselves first instead of him and breaking the first commandment.)
[Romans 3: 23] All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
[1 John 1: 8] If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
God is a fair judge and he can't let us go unpunished for the things we do wrong. Sin separates us from God.We can no longer have the relationship with him that was intended.
[Romans 6: 23] For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
[Romans 8: 13] If you live according to the sinful nature, you will die.
[Isaiah 59: 2] But your iniquities have separated you from your God.
God sent his son Jesus Christ down to earth to live with us. He died for us. Jesus took the punishment for us.
[1 Peter 3: 18] For Christ died for our sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.
[Col 1: 21 - 22] Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behaviour. But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight.
[Romans 5: 8] God demonstrated his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners. Christ died for us.
[2 Cor 5: 19 - 21] God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them...We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Jesus rose from the dead.
[Acts 1: 3] He showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive.
Jesus is the only way to God. We need to make a personal commitment to him and accept his sacrifice on the cross. Be born again.
[Acts 4: 12] Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
[John 3: 36] Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life.
[John 14: 6] Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me."
[John 1: 12] To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
[Romans 10: 9] If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
